So I recently bought a computer from the computer shop by my house.
Today I tried putting a movie in the CD-rw(E:) drive but it wouldn't pick it up. So I put the movie in the DVD drive(D:) and it picked it up. So I thought hey maybe it's just the movie's wrong. So I put a blank DVD in the E: and nothing came up, thinking again maybe it's just the DVD I opened a DVD writing program and it said it couldn't find a DVD writer. Any help?

It seems you have the answer in your post.

Today I tried putting a movie in the CD-rw(E:) drive but it wouldn't pick it up

Then you said:

I put the movie in the DVD drive(D:) and it picked it up.

It seems one is a cdrw and the other drive is a dvd player.
If the disk is a dvd then it won't work in the first drive.

Is this a DVD RW if not then you cannot burn to DVD media.
