Hello the problem I have is that when I try to burn a DVD on my PC, the CPU overheat up to the PC shutdown (75-80şC) and when I use more than the 50% of the processor, the computer shutdown and I have to wait 5 minutes to restart the PC.

The fans are working correctly; I have 3 (one from the power supply, one from the CPU and the other is an extra fan for the CPU).

What can I do? I will do all you suggest.

Bye.

What is the make model of the PC? If this is a custom build then post the specs including PSU make/wattage.

What are the idle temps of the system? Post the temps and voltage from the BIOS.

May be time to reapply thermal paste.

Hi makinu1der2 it is a custom build computer (a technical built the PC)

CPU: Amd Athlon 64 X2 5000+
RAM: DDR2 1GB
Disk: 320GB
Graphical card: GeForce 7300Gs
Operating System: Windows XP

How can I know the voltages?

The normal temps are 42-48şC (Everest) but when I demand more than the 50% (like when I burn a DVD) the CPU heat up to the PC shutdown.

I bought the computer the last year, I thought that the problem could be the thermal paste but until know I do not reapply it.

Hair dryers, vacuums, etc. are very dangerous, because they produce a lot of static electricity, a killer to electronic components. You can cause serious damage.
Get a can of compressed air an try again.

I did all what you say. I tried with a can of compressed air and I reapply the thermal paste.
