Click blocking and hard to open programs?

Hello

I am having a slight problem lately with clicking.
Sometimes when i click links or menu items or saved browser hotlinks
they will not open. I have to re-click them 2-3 times before they open

And its hard to get my desktop items to open i also have to click those
alot although they do still open.

I also noticed that certain things stay highlighted
even though im not currently using them, such as pictures after i click them.
This never happened until a few days ago and its been rather frustrating. I followed most of the Malware and Spyware Cleaning Guide and the problem
has not stopped. Any help would be appreciated. I can supply almost anything
you might need.
