I presently have AVG free edition but have been told maybe it isn't the best to have. Was wondering about the following. 1) the paid version of AVG, twister from filseclab.com, Avira, or Avast. Thanks much.

I had AVG until recently, I am now using avast!, and I doubt I will look back.
If I were going to pay for anti-virus protection, I would also consider G-Data.
avast! is just about as easy to use as AVG, but much easier on my computer.

Granted, it is only one source/test among many...
Others will have slightly different results I am sure.
But it seems that avast is also well regarded on here.
If you view the pinned topic on free malware protection,
and my last question in this section, you will find that
avast! has a high recommendation in recent posts. ^_^
