I had a virus last Saturday which was the "anti-virus system pro" virus. It would not let us run our anti-virus program (Avira) for quite awhile, but finally we got it to run, it found the virus and removed it. All seemed well with our computer, but now all is well except for google, which is our set homepage. Google searches have been running EXTREMELY slowly, if at all. If I actually get a search result, it is maybe 3 or 4 at the most. Sometimes I get none at all. Sometimes I get just a serious of letters, not even a uniformed web page that looks anything like a google page. At the top, it will say it found 10's of thousands of search results, yet it gives me no extra pages at the bottom to click on to even go to any "next" pages for more results. I am not sure if this is in connection with the virus we had or if I have something else going on. Everything else seems to be running ok. I have scanned everything and nothing has come up. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Thanks.

I suggest you go to the Malware Removal and Spyware Removal Forum and run all the steps located in the START HERE. These self-help tools will help you clean up 70% of problems on your own. If you are still having problems after doing the steps, then please post the reguested logs in THAT forum. If you are unable to run any of the tools then start a new topic in the malware forum and put this in the subject line...I am unable to run any malware tools

If you are still having problems after being given a clean bill of health from the malware expert, then please return to THIS thread and we will pursue other options to help you solve your current problem(s).
