Registry Mechanic to version 4.0.0.105

With Registry Mechanic you can safely clean and repair Windows registry problems with a few simple mouse clicks! Problems with the Windows registry are a common cause of Windows crashes and error messages. By using a registry cleaner regularly and fixing your registry your system should not only be more stable but it will also help Windows and your software run faster. Learn more about the importance of a clean registry with our registry insight.

What's new in version 4.0

An improved Graphical User Interface (GUI)
Registry Mechanic's new GUI is more intuitive, easier to use and consistent with all new releases of PC Tools products. On the main screen, the main buttons allow you to execute a customizable Quick Scan or comprehensive Full Scan of your Windows Registry and access to restoring the backups made by Registry Mechanic. Buttons on the left of this screen provide access to a variety of other options and settings, including the ability to customize the Quick Scan function to scan specific sections of the Windows Registry.

Faster scanning algorithms resulting in faster scans of your Windows Registry
Registry Mechanic 4.0 incorporates new scanning algorithms, which reduce the time taken to scan your Windows Registry.

Resizable results screen dialog for improved ease of viewing
The new, resizable results screen GUI makes it easier to view, access and modify individual errors found during a scan.
The scan sections where problems were found are listed on the left of the screen.
Details of the problems found within the selected scan section are listed on the right of the screen.

Enhanced results screen functionality, and the ability to selectively repair some or all problems detected in a scan
On the scan results screen, Registry Mechanic provides a variety of selection and modification functions that give you flexibility in selecting which problems you wish to repair or modify, as well as determining items to ignore in future scans.

The option to create System Restore points, which can be restored through the Windows System Restore Wizard
As an additional backup option, Registry Mechanic can create System Restore points using the Windows' System Restore function. If this option is selected, a System Restore point is created before the Repair function is executed. The System Restore point can be used to restore your system to the state it was in prior to conducting the Repair. Note that this feature is only available on Windows XP.

A Live Update facility, allowing Registry Mechanic to obtain upgrades and improvements easily
Using Registry Mechanic's Live Update facility, you can check if an updated version of Registry Mechanic has been released and if so, download it from within Registry Mechanic.

A customizable Ignore List, allowing you to designate items you do not want to be detected.
Registry Mechanic incorporates a customizable Ignore List to which you can add items that you require Registry Mechanic to ignore in subsequent scans. Items can be added to this list by selecting them from the scan results screen, or added manually via the Ignore Lists screen.

Creation of user-friendly logs, listing details of items found and memory resources
Registry Mechanic now creates improved log files that are easier to read, lists details of the errors found and also records the state of your system, such as memory resources and running processes when the scan was conducted.

Registry Mechanic can now automatically scan and repair errors at startup
If Registry Mechanic has been set to conduct a Scan each time your computer starts up, it will scan in the background. However, it can also be set to automatically repair all detected problems, so you can continue using your system without the need to interact with Registry Mechanic.

The evaluation version of Registry Mechanic shows error details for all sections scanned
If you are using an unregistered version of Registry Mechanic, you are able to scan all sections of your Windows Registry as well as view the details of all the errors detected in a scan. Items which cannot be repaired in the evaluation version are displayed with padlock symbols. Note that you can only repair all available sections in Registry Mechanic once you have registered the software.

User-friendly online help
Registry Mechanic incorporates a new, user-friendly online help, which can be accessed from the main screen and provides details on using new product features and making the most out of the extensive range of functions.

Even thought the above message is a blantant advertisement, I have to say that Registry Mechanic is pretty darn good. That's my personal opinion, but Download.com
thinks so too - http://www.download....4-10349249.html
My only dislike is the price. But that's something Froogle can easily fix. I found a discount in 1 second
http://www.deprice.c...trymechanic.htm
so look for a place where you can find a discount

I agree, Registry Mechanic 4.0 works great! I bought mine through eBay for $20 (CD only, brand new! No use paying extra for the box and instructions, just look through the help section of the program).
