Hi sorry if this issue has already been solved elsewhere but I couldn't find one similar to my problem

Basically, my desktop has the wireless router 'speedtouch' and this can connect to the internet fine! So can my brother's laptop
However mine does not - it can find the wireless conection fine and has good signal yet in 'network connections' the local area connection is 'unplugged'
Maybe there is something wrong with the NC card?

If you are connecting wirelessly, then you do not need to worry about the local area connection. The local area connection is only if you are using an ethernet cable to connect to the router.
