I have forgotten how to change the CP settings so that I can activate a desktop icon by double clicking with my mouse. That is the way things worked until a few days ago. But now, for some reason, clicking the icon brings up a listing of actions (Open,......., etc.)How do I restore my one-click operation? Thank you.

If left clicking the mouse button brings up the Contex Menu, then your mouse buttons have been swapped. In CP, click on the Mouse Icon (right-clight in your case for now), find the Buttons tab and see if the box has been checked where the primary and secondary buttons switched.

To restore one-click, in CP select Folder Options. General tab should be showing. Under "Click items as follows" you will see the radio button to set single-click to open items.
