Window Explorer Crashes when opening folders that have lots of thumbna

Everytime I open a folder which contains lots of videos, and the folder view is set to thumbnail(all the small, medium or large icons), Explorer crashes. This doesn't happen if I set the view as list though. But this is really annoying cause I need to be able to see the thumbnails. Any ideas?
