I have a Realtek RTL8029AS PCI ethernet NIC that needs a driver update. I went to the Realtek website and downloaded the zip file. Tried to use it and my system keeps crashing- it says Windows Protection something or other when I boot. I have been in safe mode for about 30 minutes trying to figure out what is wrong, and I am so frustrated that I just as soon redo my whole system.

Any help would be great!

Not to mention---

When I am actually able to load the system normally, I get a message that says that
the nw link.vxd is missing too.

Can that be a cause of my problem?
