Ok so im sitting in my room watching smallville on my PC, when all of a sudden it freezes. Im thinking maybe I just need to reboot so i do , and my pc turns on but nothing on my monitor. My monitor has the standby light on as if my computer is sleep and my keyboard the lights are blinking on and off ,also my loading light on my pc stays on and does not blink at all. I tried to switch monitors, and I got a new video card so far nothing works. Do i need a new cpu or mobo? or is there a way to fix this? Please help me

Hello Takahiro.... Welcome to GeeksToGo, :) :) :)

Try unplugging the system for 5 minutes and then try to boot it on again.
Do you get any beeps when you turn it on then?
Can you hear the HD spin up?
Does the windows start sound happen?

If no beeps it could be a MOBO problem.
Is it still under warranty?
How old is it?

Well being that old you will probably not only have to replace the MOBO but the CPU and memory also.
If by chance you could find a MOBO that would work in that case and would support your cpu and memory you would have to have the same exact board to remain legal in the OS with microsoft since the system was preloaded.
You could buy a new Barebones system which would consist of
Case
MOBO
CPU
Memory
PSU (may be optional)

You could then replace OS system with a newer one like Windows 7
This would probably mean formatting your hd and reloading.
You could go to a 32 bit version on Win7 and may not have as many problems.
The other issue is since this is a HP system the OS was preinstalled which means that the XP is married to the system.
This means legally you would have to replace it anyway with a new OS system.

This is a barebones system
I say that because of this notice on the description of the item

NO HEATSINK, PROCESSOR, RAM, OPTICAL DRIVES, or HARD DRIVE!

These components are not included with the system.
You would have to purchase them separately.

Take a look at this HERE
Complete system except for a OS.
You could purchase Windows 7 then HERE
Thats about 430.00 for a complete system with shipping.
You could build it yourself with the help of the guide on GTG.
Realizing that money is the issue I don't know if this is within your budget.

OK then with the system you linked to.
It looks like your parts will interchange with it.
Now the only problem is the OS system.
It probably will have to be reactivated since it is in all sense a new system.
If you have a Genuine Original Microsoft XP installation disk with the original and unused key code then you can start fresh.
