My HP Pavilion dv8240 laptop will no longer start. I was receiving the error message: \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM.SAV because the system would not boot. I dropped in the Windows XP recovery CD and tried to restart the comuter and it went dead. When I hit the power button a blue lighting power light flashes on the front, but no system activity...just dead.

Something to note is that I am using a Dell version CD for the Wondows XP recovery since I do not have one for the HP laptop. IS that an issue too?

Please help, thanks!
