I apologize for what may be a question with an obvious answer, but I'd rather not take chances. I have an Aspire AS1410-2285, which came with 64-bit Windows 7 HE. I would like to enter safe mode, but for the life of me, can't find the option when I enter the InsydeH20 setup utility (reached via pressing F2 during the Acer splash screen). I get five headings:

INFORMATION (simply a display, nothing to change)

MAIN:
System Time
System Date
Total and Video Memory, which are unalterable
Quiet Boot (already enabled)
Network Boot (already enabled)
F12 Boot Menu (already disabled)
D2D Recovery (already enabled)
SATA Mode (already in AHCI Mode)

SECURITY (where I can set Supervisor or HDD passwords)

BOOT (to arrange boot priority order):
1. IDE0 : WDE WD1600BEVT-22ZCT0
2. IDE1 :
3. Network Boot : Atheros Boot Agent
4. USBHDD :
5. USB CDROM :
6. IDE1 :

EXIT

Is one of the options under "Main" for safe mode, and I'm simply not recognizing it? Or do I change something in the boot order? I'm happy to provide any necessary additional information, and am grateful for any help that can be offered.

Thank you,
cnb

Hey cnb and welcome to GeeksToGo.

To reach Safe Mode you actually need to be using the F8 key.
Tap this repeatedly after the initial splash screen and you'll be presented with a menu like this:

Just select safe mode, and hit enter :)

Just FYI, you were actually in the BIOS which controls the low level features of the computer, usually motherboard tweaks. I'd steer clear of that area unless you know what you're doing - you can render your computer inoperable.

Cheers,
Deon :)
