i have 2 slots for RAM. One slot is occupied with a 256mb RAM PC3200. I would like to add more RAM. Is it possible to add a 512mb in my empty slot without any trouble? ...and do i have to stick with PC3200 or can i use a PC2700 and still be fine?
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

Adding ram is one of the easiest upgrades, it would be best if you stayed with pc3200.

You could also use a site like this to check for compatibility.

Thanks Rick,

I'll stick with PC3200. Would there be problems if i had a 256mb... and a 512mb in the 2 slots?

yes, the mb detects the lowest ram speed and all ram is read at that speed. check to see if its duel channel, cause if so, both ram have to be the same size and speed.
