Hello I have an older pc that is a 2.8mhz p4 with only 1gig of ram. The mother board is a Intel rocklake D865Perl. The two sticks of ram I had where Kdata DDR400(2.5) 512M 16. All was sweet until one died. So I ordered two new matching sticks to replace them. I purchased two Team elite 1GB DDR 400MHZ PC3200. My mother board can support up to 4 sticks of 1GB. When I install the ram in slots 1 and 3 my PC won't start. These are the ports that I pulled the 512's from but with the 1gb it won't fire up. If I install only 1 stick then it fires fine. If I install them in ports 1 and 2 then it fires up but with the warning message that it isn't set up for optimal performance in 1 and 2 and should be put in 1 and 3. What can I do to solve this? By the way I have also tried installing two 512's from another pc into ports 2 and 4 but it still won't fire.

Well I tried to put the other two sticks of 512 into ports 3 and 4 but it wouldn't start. I pulled the two 512's out again and it started so I tried another 512 that I have in port 3 but it didn't start again. It seems that nothing will work with the 2 1GB's that I got. It has me stumped considering I should be able to fill the ports with up[ to 4 1GB sticks.. Any help would be great.
