wubi ubuntu won't load and computer locks up

I recently downloaded and installed wubi ubuntu linux on my computer and I was able to access it once and now when I select it it comes up with this error message - (3.355696) kernel panic not syncing: vfs:unable to mount root fs on unknown block (8.1)then it locks up and does nothing. how do I correct it?
