I have here a custom built computer with:

Pentium 4 Northwood 2.0ghz (Max 3.3ghz)
PowerVR Hercules 3D Prophet 4000XT Kyro (64mb PCI)
768 MB of ram
40 gb harddrive
Windows XP Pro

but even moving a windows lags really bad for some reason, the graphics card is OK, but I can't find any good drivers that don't mess up the screen and force me to reconfigure my CRT... The ones from imgtec.com break my screen and last time ended up rendering windows unusable so I had to uninstall them

I've disabled acceleration and that speeded stuff up A LOT, but not completely, I don't get why it lags so bad, a lot of computers have similar specs but are a lot faster for some reason

How can I make graphics performance better and/or find drivers for my Graphics Card?

Is this the same system that you have another topic opened for HERE?
If system is shutting down as you say there then the issue needs to be addressed and then work on the video problem.
Please let us know so we can resolve one issue before starting another.

Did you not see at the bottom of the other issue I had resolved it for now? It's fine now it fixed itself, but cn you atleast help me with this issue?

I'm sorry about the confusion and let's move along witht he next step to figure out the problem.

Download Autoruns from the link in my signature below:
1: Extract the Autoruns Zip file contents to a folder.
2: Double-click the "Autoruns.exe".
3: Click on the "Everything" tab
4: Remove any entries that mention "File Not Found" by right-clicking the entry and select Delete.
5: Go to File then to Export As or Save in some versions.
6: Save AutoRuns.txt file to know location.
7: Attach to your next reply.




Download and install Free Everest Home Edition
Open it.
1: In left pane expand Computer folder.
2: Click once on Summary
3: In upper menu, go Report
4: And then to Quick Report-Summary
5: Save it in text file, and paste it in your next post.
Click the + by computer, click on Sensor. Get a screenshot and post it so I can check your temps and voltages...

DO NOT INCLUDE ANYTHING UNDER THE LINE THAT SAYS "DEBUG- PCI"

According to this your hd is only a 4 gig drive and you only have 33negs free.
Please go to Start then My Computer
Right click on the C drive and then click on Properties
Take a screenshot and attach it to your next reply.

Can you tell me where the graphics are slowing down?
Is it during internet, game playing or normal OS windows?

It lags pretty bad when scrolling or moving windows, just moving a window will get my CPU USAGE to 100%, oh and I used to have linux on this comp so I only had 4gb to give XP so that IS right, it isn't much of a problem

ALSO, second image will explain the 4gb free from my linux partitions

Yeah, pretty much, I couldn't find any good util for my linux to backup all my partitions to the same drive so I could safely delete them to make room for XP

OK this may be a problem then as Xp needs 15% of the drive free to run correctly.
You have less then 10%.
I also see you use torrent sites and this could possibly open you up to a infection which could also have the results you are having.
I'm not sure with the space allocated to XP if there would be any way to speed things up.
Try this to see what it says.

Go to Start then to Control Panel
Click on System then click on Advanced tab.
In the Performance Field click on Settings
Now on the Advanced Tab click on Change
Now take a screenshot and include it in your next reply.

To do a screenshot please have click on your Print Screen on your keyboard. It is normally the key above your number pad between the F12 key and the Scroll Lock key
Now go to Start and then to All Programs
Scroll to Accessories and then click on Paint
In the Empty White Area click and hold the CTRL key and then click the V
Go to the File option at the top and click on Save as
Save as file type JPEG and save it to your Desktop

Not sure if this is going to help but try setting the Initial and Max settings to both at 1536.
Click OK and then reboot.
Does it help at all?
The ending result is that you really need to increase the size of partition or purchase a new hd for XP to run on. I'm afraid with the existing setup and space we are not going to be able to help much.

It didn't help, so I rebooted into my gparted CD and resized my partition by 1.7gb, now its even SLOWER than normal, what happened!?
