First off for firewalls have you got router because that should have a built in one

For the LAN Problem, First of, are all your computers on the same workgroup / internal network??

I am very noob to this server thing and I NEED HELP BADLY!!!

I don't know how to configure files and stuff. My server is not showing up at all in local or internet! I don't know what dedicate.cfg is etc. I currently have 1.41 patch. PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO CONFIGURE FILES AND WHAT I NEED TO TYPE IN THE SERVER CONSOLE TO MAKE MY SERVER APPEAR IN PUBLIC/INTERNET!!!!

First off Download This!

This means you have 2 or more confilicting mods you need to get rid of

Once you have downloaded and run CoD cleaner you nect need to set up a .cfg

Download CoD CFG Creater from Here!

run through the program and then save your .CFG to the CoD Main Folder as "myserver.cfg" (without quotes)

Default path is...
"C:\Program Files\Call of Duty Game of the Year Edition\Main"

Right click on your Call of Duty Game of the Year edition Multiplayer shortcut and find the box thats called target

At the end of the box add...

+exec myserver.cfg

Make sure to leave a Space betewen .exe and +exec

It should look like this...

"C:\Program Files\Call of Duty Game of the Year Edition\CoDMP.exe" +exec myserver.cfg

Now if you have a router you will need to forward some ports...

Go to http://portforward.com/ and folow the guides for your router

Hi guys. I'm having a bad time running CoD:UO server. I have patched with 1.51 and used PrivateServerPatch 1.5. Then i add 2 the shortcut "+exec myserver.cfg". The problem is that i don't see the server on Internet and only people on my LAN can see the server... How can i make it visable on Internet?

Not using router, with Static IP.

Hi, I know you posted thist like 4 years ago but I need help hosting a server. I did everything you did, I downloaded the cfg file and put it in my main folder, I even enabled my dmz host like you said and yet my server won't show on the internet. It only shows on local.

hi i want to run a call of duty server and ive don every rigth so far but my router does not have the dmz setting bit or atleast i dont think it does i have a zyxel prestiege 660hw t1 and cant find it i can see my server on lan but tnot on the internet is there any other way to do it or does anyone know where to find the dmz settings on a zyxel router

Well as i see no one has posted here in a while, il try to help you out! although i havent played this game in years so bare with me

Well first off you have all the config files ect? il get straight to the router problem!

I would recommend going to portforward.com and searching for your router on there (I have tried to find it, but at the moment there site seems to be down lol ) Once you have selected your router it will give you a list of applications to choose from so select call of duty!

This should then give you a complete run through of how to forward the ports to your computer correctly without having to use dmz (As dmz is not always needed for this kind of thing and just general port forwarding is safer)

You could also try and see if there is a firmware update for your router which may include a dmz feature for it.

Lastly if you are using a firewall program or even windows firewall, i have found that you need to forward the ports through this also!
