problem with my DirectX...Pls Help...

When i start my Warcraft3:Frozen Throne game,it could not start up..
It says that Warcraft3 was unable to initialize DirectX.Please ensure that you have installed DirectX 8.1 or newer installed on that your display drivers are current.
What does that means?? Whats the problem????
i checked and i have DirectX 10 but why does it start my game??
Pls help....thx
