The problem that I have is everytime someone send me an email with an attachment from a different email program such as windows mail... it opens the attachment in windows mail instead of outlook express. how can I get it to open in Outlook Express without having to open a window into Windows Live Mail?

my os is XP and outlook express is version 6.

Open the security options window in Outlook Express by clicking Tools in the top menu and then Options. Look for the option “Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened…”, which will have a tick in front of it. Untick this option and click Apply.

I tried as you suggested.... still have attachments open in Window Live Mail.
I guess I'll have to get used to it.
