Dell desktop-no sound-headphones get sound

What I meant was the speakers are plugged into a main outlet on my desk which are turned off and on with a push botton switch. For some reason someone push the button in for the speakers which turned them off . I followed the wires back from the speakers and notice the wires go into the desk and then I notice the speaker button was turned off.
