DreamGear wired USB Controller issues

Hey, I'm having issues with a dreamgear ps3 controller playing games.
I've installed drivers for it, It shows up as 'usb gamepad' in the control panel, yet I cant use it in games or anything.

I've tried seeing if i can set the controls to the gamepad ingame, but there's no setting for it in the options.
is there any easier way, or any way at all for that matter to get it to work?
