Hello my name is Dave and I have an older Gateway 700se. A few months back my monitor and keyboard started shuting off (ushually about 20 min to hr.), the PC stays on.. The monitor goes into power saver mode and the keyboard shuts down (no lights). I took the side panel off and cleaned out w/air pressure. Left the side off and plugged everything back in, turned on to make sure the cpu fan was still working (it was), that was when it lasted about an hr. before monitor and keyboard went out. I was thinking maybe it was overheating but not sure. Can you give me any help. It may be old but it is very reliable. Over the years I have replaced the power supply from 250amps to 300amps, hard drive (still only 40GB), upgrade memory to 1GB, Upgraded graphics card to a Nvidia Geforce 6 series. Re-loaded windows xp twice, once w/new H.D. and once because of a virus. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
