First of all, I apologize if this is in the wrong spot. Feel free to move it if so.

Thumbnail preview works fine with image files in Windows Explorer, but video files just show the generic icon for that video type.

Folder Options > View
Always Show Icons, Never Thumbnails: unchecked

It always displayed everything fine up until about a week ago. I don't believe I've changed any settings for this to happen.

Also, don't .pdf and even .docx files usually show a thumbnail preview as well? I just noticed those aren't showing either.

Thanks in advance!

Have you tried clearing your Thumbnail Cache ? (you can do this with Disk Cleanup, or typing in the Vista search box: "cleanmgr.exe" (without quotes) then press enter)

Besides trying that, I have no clue.

Yes, I did that. Doesn't make a difference.
