hi can anyone help ?
i have been given a laptop and as far as i know it has vista home basic on it
on start up it says bootmgr not found so i think the operating system startup files are corrupt
i put in a disk to boot from dvd but just goes straight to the same screen ?
obviously it boots from hdd first ?
i have tried accessing the bios but to no avail ?/ what keys to press ?
well i have tried them all !
all the function keys all function keys with fn button held down
all configurations of ctrl/alt and whatever
it has a phoenix bios and i looked at the bios keys to use but nothing works ?
all the keys work as i have held them down and get the constant beep....
tried this on start up to force a keyboard error but no avail
removed hard drive to force error to no avail
removed dvd to force error but to no avail
infact ive tried everything
any other suggestions welcome before it gets launched !!!! lol
thanks

Hi DarrylBarry and welcome to Geeks to Go.

According to the MANUAL, during bootup you will be given the option of F2 for bios or F12 for boot order.

Please start your own topic as this one is 9 months old.
Although your issue may seem similar there can be other factors that may need to be resolved.
By bumping on someone's topic it makes it confusing for the tech to understand who they are helping. This can in turn cause the wrong support to be given and can cause instability or worse to happen to your system.
Thank you for your cooperation.
