My lcd monitor is not working.

I have a Mag innovision 17 in lcd monitor model number lt717s hooked into my computer system. It works fine except for some reason, certain games when they are loaded the screen will go black and say "mode not supported". I have a excellent graphics card that can handel all the newest games. I have had no trouble with all the new games except for wolfenstein and Batman arkham asylum. I was able to play resident evil 5 and the force unleashed which is a huge game with no problem and Crysis which requires alot of processing power fine. My system specs are more than adequate to play these games but my monitor has this problem for some reason. Here are my system specs:

Since you are getting "mode not supported" from the monitor, clearly that is the limiting factor. The programs are most likely setting the video mode to a resolution/freq. that the monitor can not handle.

Do you have your system set for this specific monitor or do you have it set to a generic 17" LCD? There might be drivers which you can install which will prevent the system from setting the mode to something which the monitor can not accept.

I can not see the user's manual from the web of Mag, so I don't know what modes it can use.

Thank you for responding. I have not set my system to this specific monitor or changed any of the settings and i have also already been on mag innovision's site, looking for support or a manual but there is nothing for this monitor on there. I just need to know if there is any way to change the settings so i can play these games or, if worst case scenario, i have to buy a new monitor? I have also googled drivers for this lcd but cant seem to find any.

You may need to contact Mag to see if there is something that you can do. You also could check to see if the game allows you to limit the display modes which it will use.

If you set the monitor to that particular model, it might prevent the system from setting the mode to something which will not work with it. The game might then not try to change the mode to something which does not work.

Based on the fact that you have a good video card, my opinion is that you might want to get a monitor which will match your video card so that you can get the most out of your video card.

Others might be able to give more details as to how to lock the modes.
