I have a Sony Vaio that is about 5yrs old.I use IE. All of a sudden
all of the USB Ports stopped working at the same time.
A couple of (non-professionals) tried checking it out, but,
couldn't get them working either.
Is it possible for them to all be "broke" at once? ;-)
I know just enough to be dangerous, not helpful!
I'm 71yrs old and don't want to have to buy a new 'puter.
Thank you.

Hi 2mitzid and welcome to Geeks to Go.

Generally not all USB ports will go out at the same time unless they run from the same controller and the controller is bad.
Lets start with some basics.

Please Go to
1: STARTand the click on RUN
2: Type in devmgmt.msc
3: Click Enter
4. Look for any entries with Yellow Exclamation ! marks or Red X's

In your next reply please include those results
