router won't connect to modem

I have comcast cable and a Belkin F5D8236-4 ver 3. I have had this connected to my modem for the last 4 months with no problems.

Yesterday I lost connection and it won't reconnect to the modem. The modem light on the router keeps blinking orange and the globe is not lit at all.

I can connect my laptop through hardwiring it direct to the modem. My laptop says I am connected and have 4 out of 5 bars for signal strength but it won't connect to the internet.

Been banging my head against the wall since I lost connection.

Any suggestions?

I have reset the router, retried the software, unplugged the router and modem but no luck.
