reinstalling windows xp with no boot disk

I got a laptop from a friend and need to reinstall windows xp on it.

Unfortunately no disk means no reinstallation.
Since it'll be a branded laptop you can try the usual recovery partition tricks such as pressing F10, F11, ALT+F2 during startup, but failing that you'll need a disk.
