Ok...you guys are offering quite a service here! Keep up the good work! That said...I was able to get rid of the blue screen caused by smithfraud.c but I still have some residue left over that I can't seem to get rid of. (then I came across you guys! very cool. by the way you are listed as #1 for search for smithfraud.c on Google. you must get a [bleep] of a lot of traffic.) I need a little help understanding the Hijack this log. Could you let me know which ones I need to get rid of? (log posted below) some may be obvious but I am not sure and don't want to delete something I shouldnt.

Before we get going a few questions...

1) Did you knowingly install ICE Remote Spy on your computer?

2) Could you let me know what your problems are right now? Do you still have desktop problems?

I have no idea what remote spy is so I guess....no. as far as I can tell I am not having desktop problems anymore but I would like to clean the rest of the mess off my pc. I was wondering if you could help me decipher the HJT log and if you had any other tid bits of info to help me clean stuff up. thanks-

First, I suggest you contact the makers of Ice Remote Spy Software at 1 (877) 353-7297 and find out how to uninstall this program. This would be the most sure way of getting all of it off.

Also, if indeed this program was set by someone with the administrative rights to the computer, you should be aware that they will know it's gone. In other words, if your parents or boss installed it then you're going to get in trouble for uninstalling it!

In the meantime, let's clean off the rest of the junk:

ummm ok..I found out what ICE remote spy software is...it was installed by another user on this computer and I will have them remove it- thanks for the heads up. is there aything else I need to do or be aware of?
