Here's the history and stats on my problem. I really don't want to get to the point of re-installing XP, can't afford to loose my data nor programs. Hope you can help.

Black Screen
Comp. Stats:
VelocityMicro
Intel Cor 2, 6400@ 2.12 GHz
System Buss Speed 1066 MHz
Memory Speed,667 MHz
L2 Cashe 2048 KB
Total Mem. 2048 MB
Dual Channel
Video Card: N-Vidia GeFoece 7600GS
Hard Drive: WDC WD2500JS-00M

Internet Ex. Has been having problems for sonme time
but more of an annoyance then anything.

The computer froze up when I was on a website preparing
to download a new casino. I have several casinos and have never
had a problem so when it wanted to open a java app. I allowed
it and thats when everything froze up. I had other progranms running
at the time but don't recall what they were. After manually resetting
my PC it came up to a black screen with curser. As per previous posts Ive attempted
1. Rebooting into safe mode
2. Safe mode with command prompt
3. Last know good state
4. Recovery console. Can read the drive but accepted commands are too
limited to do much with.
5. Windows repair from the XP CD.

Interestingly, safe mode almost gets there as the screen prints
the XP info across the top and says safe mode in all 4 corners
and has a cursor but thats where it ends. Would do a system
restore if I could get into safe mode.
