vista wont startup

i have tried to start my laptop and it wont start the vista up.it keeps on going onto a black screen with 2 options either start in normal setup or recommended search .i have run the hirens boot up but it searches then still goes back to this black screen.there are a load of important photos of my baby son what are irriplacable and really need to sort it.can you please help
