I have been trying to unsubscribe to this service from M.S.N..I can progress just so far and then end up right back where I started from,seems that they are determined to have me pay for another year which I do not want or need

Yes they are. You will have to contact them. Clearly state you do not need it and then if they still make you pay then well.. I would not know what to do.
