Hello people. I am new here so I might sound a bit stupid, as I don't know too much about computers!!

It has taken me a week to get rid of the Trojan-spy Smitfraud.c "virus"
The message seemed to go after I deleted wp.exe in C:, but now I have a black screen.
After reading some advice here, I copied & pasted the box into Wordpad, saved it as Fixdesktop.reg on desktop. When I double clicked on it to open, a message came up saying "Cannot import C:\windows\desktop\fixdesktop.reg. The specified file is not a registry script. Yu can only import registry files."
I Would like to get my background back to normal, I don't like black!!

I would be really grateful for any help.

Please Click here!, and follow the recommendations in the guide.

If you're still having trouble, We'll need you to use a free diagnostic tool, Hijack This. Follow the instructions in step five of this guide, and post your log as a new topic in the Hijack This forum. It will get a better response there from the people most qualified to analyze logs.

Most of what Hijack This lists lists will be harmless or even essential, DO NOT delete or modify anything yet! Someone will be along to tell you what steps to take after you post the contents of the scan results.
