Hello, I have a Hyundai L70S 17" LCD monitor and just recently it stopped working. What happens is that the monitor will simply not stay on. While I was typing my term paper the monitor suddenly shut off (power light and picture), then the power light comes back up for about 5-10 seconds with no picture on the monitor (black screen), then the screen flashes for a fraction of a second and the whole process repeats. While this is happening the power button is unresponsive. I've pushed the button throughout every phase of this cycle and nothing happens. The only way to turn it off is to unplug the power source.

I've already switched out the cords so I know it's not that. I've also switched out the monitor so it's not the video card either. With just the power cord plugged into the monitor the same cycle of off-on happens with the LCD test screen as well, so I'm 100% certain it's a problem with the hardware of the monitor.

It sounds to me like this might be some kind of technical error, like a short or something in the electrical equipment inside the monitor. I would like to know what you people think this way I can get an accurate estimate before I take it into the shop, if I even have to take it into the shop (you guys know how those shops are, screw you any chance they can get.) Thanks in advance,

Chris
