computer stops and gives error code KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR what is it and what can I do to rectify it?

Running under XP Professional SP-2 on a Compact R5001.

There are 3 things you can try.

1. Get the latest Windows XP Service Pack, you have sp2 installed get sp3.

2. Run a disk scanner
  • Click Start, click Run, type chkdsk /f /r, and then click OK.
  • At the command prompt, type Y to let the disk scanner run when you restart the computer.
  • Restart the computer.
  • Chkdsk will run.

If the above did not work and problem still occur you should be checking your system for possible infections at the malware forum.
