Download Temp File Cleaner (TFC)
Double click on TFC.exe to run the program.
Click on Start button to begin cleaning process.
TFC will close all running programs, and it may ask you to restart computer.

nop still have the problem
When I try to open an attachement or save one this same box pops up at the same time the winrar box pops up as well
the error box that pops up says the temporary file is either unknown or damaged
I think I may have deleted something I shouldn't have when I had a virus a while back
Everything else on the computer is working fine except for this I did come here to get my virus corrected

hi
Click Start
Select Run
At the prompt type sfc /scannow Please note that there is a single space between sfc and /scannow.
Typing this will start the program, and a box should appear telling you how much longer the process should take.
Sometimes the scan will prompt you for your Windows XP disc upon starting the scan. if this happens please make sure that you can view protected files:
My Computer
Tools
Folder Options
View
"Uncheck" Hide protected operating system files.
Then rerun the scan. If this still asks you to put in your windows XP CD, and you do not have the CD (If you bought it preinstalled) post back for more tips, otherwise enter Windows CD.
Once the scan is complete:
Check your Windows Updates! After using the File Protection Service, you might need to reapply some updates.
Please reboot, and let me know if anything has changed.
Also, please rehide the protected files:
My Computer
Tools
Folder Options
View
"Check" Hide protected operating system files.
retry opening attachments.

Are we talking about just one particular attachment, or you can't open any attachment?

That would be strange, because this message:
Can you give me couple of file names, you're trying to open?
indicates, you're dealing with some zipped file.Archive is either unknown format or damaged

This happens whenever I try to open any sort of attachment
One other thing to mention is evertime I get this message I also get my Winrar exe that pops up as well and since the trial period is over it asks me if I want to buy the software that could have something to do with it ..just wanted to point this out

Once again, it looks like you're trying to open some zipped files.
PLEASE, provide couple of file names (including an extension), you're dealing with.
