I just recovered from a virus problem and decided to run disk scan. When I tried doing it automatically through Local Disk C: --> Right Click Properties --> Tools --> Check Now...the computer restarted and went directly to Windows.

Then I ran a manual disk scan through the command prompt. chkdsk /f /r -- then of course I hit Y.

It runs through the first three stages rather quickly, then slowed down as it normally would for the fourth stage. At 66 percent, it froze. I decided to let it run, and it ran for over 25 hours stuck at 66%.

Today, I decided to turn off and restart the computer, and (I don't know if this is normal) it went automatically back to the scan. It is again stuck at 66% on stage 4 of 5. as it has been for at least one hour and counting.

Is there anything I can do? (Let me know if you need more information)

All help appreciated :)

EDIT: If anyone can even tell me what I should do next...turn off computer, run in safe mode, etc...I am clueless... Thanks.
