Hello I need to see if I can find out how to get these photos off of this CD the guy who give me the CD says that it is in NEF format. What is this and where do I get the software to get these photos

Nikon - stupid NEF format statement

Nikon Electronic format Paid for converter.

Says you can use Picasa Image Viewer here.

In the absence of such conversion software, you can use Picasa image viewer from Google. Using Picasa you can view NEF images as well as save them in JPG format. Picasa image viewer can be downloaded as part of Google Pack.
