hello

we just got a new computer, all the parts were ordered from neweeg here are the parts

MEM 2GX2
VGA ZOTAC
HD 160: WD 7K 8M SATA2
PSU COMPUCASE:X-POWER PRO
CPU AMD:PH 11 X4
MB ASUS M4A79XTD EVO

We put all the components together correctly, double checked them and everything, we go and try to install windows xp, and the error message appeared "reboot and select proper boot device" we checked that the slots are under sata and not raid, went and exchanged the cdrom for a liteon sata interface. it works fine, we have the boot sequence

1. CD rom
2. HD (i believe) my dad has the sequence right i just cant remember

it doesnt show an ide master or slave, idk if it matters

We believe is the HDD, the reason i personally believe is the HDD because we tried an old HDD from an older comp and it picked it up as an IDE master, also it went to boot but a big blue error screen popped, we figured because it was an older HDD with the newer components the older HDD wasnt compatible, today we will try to partition and format the HDD to test and see if the old HDD does work, also the cd does work because we tried it on the old comp

would appreciate all the help, thanks

also the cd does work because we tried it on the old comp

What kind of cd is this?
Recovery cd from another system?
Full Genuine Microsoft Xp installation cd?
Full version or upgrade?
What about a Registration Key?
Did you purchase a new key to install it to the new system or what key are you planning on using to activate XP?
