OK. I guess this is just too much for my brain to comprehend. I'm gonna take the PC to hubby's work tomorrow and let the guru there try these instructions. I really appreciate your help. I'll let you know how it works.

I've replaced my hard drive. And then I used my recovery discs and got my system back up and running. Even did some updates.

Thanks again for all the help.

One more question, please. Everything was fine and then I got a message that said my copy of windows wasn't genuine and to follow a link to validate it. The link says its valid, but I'm still getting the popup when I reboot. This is causing me NOT to be able to use my control panel. Need to get in there to tweek things a bit. Any thoughts???

Problem solved. Did a system restore and things seem to be working well now. Thanks again for your help.
