Hi, about 2 days ago i got a message saying the explorer.exe was not workinng or something, and the computer got a blue scree of death.

It is happening less frequently now.

Is it a registry problem? I heard this is caused by a dirty registry.

What do I do to clean this problem up?

Thanks.

It could be caused by any number of things. I would not advise running any sort of registry cleaner product, as I know how damaging those things can be sometimes.

Make sure you are running the latest Service Pack and all Important Updates are installed. It may well be another piece of software on your PC which is causing Explorer to crash.

When does the error usually appear... Does it appear after running a certain program, does it happen at startup, when you are on the net?

how often does it happen...what exactly are you doing when it crashes...
did you add any hardware or software recently...any software or windows updates...
does it crash when you boot into safe mode with networking and run it that way...
look in the device manager ...got any yellow ! or ? or red X's

Well, it doesn't look like there is that explorer.exe error anymore, but 99% of my problems happen during a game.

That last explorer.exe crash was during Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer.
The crash just happened randomly, and I really suspect that it is a heat issue. Mostly likely Graphics card. My card idles around 41 degrees celsius (room is 62 farenheit) The game will run fine, then as you play more, the computer will crash.

This crash really only happens during games.
The crash occurs like 2 mins into the game if the settings are high, longer if settings are low (visual settings)

I think the card is sensing a certain temp, and shutting itself down.
How do I check this/disable?

Download BlueScreenView
No installation required.
Double click on BlueScreenView.exe file to run the program.
When scanning is done, go Edit>Select All.
Go File>Save Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt.
Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all content, and paste it into your next reply.

Please download VEW and save it to your Desktop: http://images.malwar...om/vino/VEW.exe

Double-click VEW.exe then under Select log to query, select:
Application
System

Under Select type to list, select:
Critical (Vista only)
Error

Click the radio button for Number of events
Type 20 in the 1 to 20 box
Then click the Run button.
Notepad will open with the output log.

In Notepad, click Edit > Select all then Edit > Copy
Reply to this post, click in the reply window and press Ctrl+V on your keyboard to paste the log.

go here and get everest home...
install and launch it...click the + by computer...click on sensor...get a screenshot and post it so we can check your temps and voltages...best if you do two...first prior to playing game ...second screenshot after playing for about 5 minutes
