Unable to install Adobe AIR

Hello, I am unable to install Adobe AIR, after running the installer I get a error message:

"An error occurred while installing Adobe AIR. Installation may not be allowed by your administrator. Please contact your administrator."

I am the administrator of the computer and I have not disallowed this application, I have searched the internet for a solution, but have only found solutions for Ubuntu and Linux. I have also searched this forum, to no avail, so can someone please help me?
