:) I was following a virus removal instruction and something sent my "settings" icon from my control panel to my desktop and it is now empty. This is what it reads when I click on it:

"You are attempting to open a file of type 'DAT File' (.dat).
These files are used by the operating system and by various programs. Editing or modifying them could damage your system.
If you still want to open the file, click Open With, otherwise, click cancel."

It will not open at all, and when I right click on it and go to "properties", it shows next to "size" 0 bytes, and "size on disk" 0 bytes.
How in the world do I get it back to my control panel, and will I still be able to work my settings?
