I was wondering if a usb 2 adapter would even be worth getting over a standard usb.

usb2 transfers data at a maximum speed of 480 Mbit/s where usb1 has data rates of 1.5 Mbit/s (Low-Speed) and 12 Mbit/s (Full-Speed)....doesn't take much to do the math there...if you do any amount of transferring of info to/from USB devices USB 2 makes a difference
