This is some sort of malware I'm guessing. I am getting many popups telling me I have a windows security alert and something called wuauclt.exe is infected. I tried a number of your suggested answers but I just make anything work because of the following:

I can't open Task manager to "stop the processes"
I can't open Regedit to delete registries (and when I go into safe mode and do it, I can't find the ones they are saying to look for)
I can't run any programs at all - my virus checker or anything suggested on other pages to fix the problem.

Hope someone can help, thanks so much!!!

Hi there, I'm sorry, I guess I just thought this would be a known thing and someone could tell me what files to delete or something. I just don't have time to try 100 different things to try to guess at a solution especially when this nasty thing is frustrating the living bejeezus out of me!!

I am working two jobs and am also the full time mother of 2 small toddlers. As it was, last night I stayed up to midnight trying everything I could to find a solution. For me, it is going to be quicker to just clean off my computer and start from scratch again. It takes a while to load but at least I can walk away from it while it does its stuff.

Thanks so much for your reply, have a wonderful holidays!!

PS Whoever invents these malicious things should be shot!!!!
