When the processor is busy check process with high usage.Download System Explorer , install and run.Check the process.Make a screenshot , and upload here.

1: Try to boot the computer in safe mode with networking and see if it is running faster.

2: Click Start > Run. In the dialog box write msconfig and click Enter. Check Selective mode and click Startup. Uncheck Everything!! and reboot the computer. please advise how it is working now. If it runs well, start checking the disabled functions two or three at a time until you can pinpoint the function that slows down the computer.

3: Can you compare the computer's performance before and after the installation of SP-3? Very often the installation of SP-3 cause lots of problems when installed on long running, loaded computer. If nothing was found up to this point then I suggest that you uninstall SP-3 in Add/Remove programs.

4: Download PageDfrag from my list of links below. Install and check the box that let the program upon next boot. Reboot and let the process run.
