All of a sudden about a week ago messages started popping up on my computer re:Sonic MyDVD Plus saying, "The feature that you're trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable". Then when you hit okay or cancel, it says something about an installation package can't be found and then it says, Try the installation again using a valid package.

I really have no idea what this message means, how it started, or what Sonic even is. I have windows XP (I think) and I believe it came with a media program. My husband may have been trying to move family videos from card to disc lately.

Please help me understand what is going on and how to get rid of this annoying message. By the way in case it wasn't obvious, I have a limited understanding of computer programs. Thanks. Lisa

"Sonic MyDVD" is software for creating DVDs of your home movies, which may have been pre-installed on your PC at one time but is now incomplete. If you don't intend to to make DVDs of your movies, the simplest thing to try is to uninstall it if it's listed in "Add-Remove Programs".

You will still be able play movies on your PC using Windows Media Player or the excellent and free VLC Media Player which can play many more types of movie files than Windows Media Player so you shouldn't need to worry about not being able to play a particular type.

Thanks for your reply. So, can we dumb it down a bit, where do I find add/remove programs? Also, we do plan on burning DVD's from our memory card in a video camera, do I need the program for that and is it easy to re-install?

Simply unzip Autoruns.zip file, and double click on autoruns.exe file to run the program.
Go File>Save, and save AutoRuns.txt file to know location.
Attach the file to your next reply.

I tried this & it worked great ...... BUT, now I am trying to open the file again I am having the same problem. I have tried your fix Broni which worked fine last time but now it wont work. What can I do ??
