i have a HP Pavilion a6112n desktop with a lightscribe dvdrw drive. The os is Vista Home Premium 32bit. The dvd drive won't eject - not by going to My Computer, right clicking on it and pressing eject and not by manually pressing the button.
When the computer boots up, the drive WILL eject but once the desktop loads up it won't respond. When I try to right click on the drive and select Eject, I get an error
"an error occured while ejecting 'DVD RW Drive (E):'

I tried going to Device Manager and updating the driver but it says that the drivers are up to date.
Any other ideas?

TIA.

Optical drives don't need any extra drivers.
The drive may be dying, but you can try to uninstall it through Device Manager.
Restart computer and the drive should be reinstalled automatically.

Thank you very much - uninstalling it through DM seems to have helped.

(sorry for the late response)
