There is a post from 2007 on this topic, but there is no answer.
So here is my problem. I downloaded a couple of big things yesterday, and now today I have this problem. My computer starts up, goes to the desktop picture, and no farther. the box comes up that says: Eplorer.exe-bad image
the application or DLL c:\windows|system32\st3dll is not a valid windows image please check this against your insatllation diskette.
The mouse will work, but nothing else. ctl alt delete will not work nothing. I'm doing this on my laptop, it's my desktop that has the problem. any help will be appriciated.

I suggest that you start a new topic in the Malware Removal and Spyware Removal area.

Before you start a new topic click on this link --> Malware and Spyware Cleaning Guide, Please read before starting a new topic. This will give you a few preparations to make, as well as instruction for posting your OTListIt2 log.

If you are still having problems after being given a clean bill of health from the malware expert, then please return to THIS thread and we will pursue other options to help you solve your current problem(s).

Thank you for such a fast reply! I can't do what you ask, because I can not access anyhting on my computer. The one with the problem that is. I only see the desktop picture. Nothing else. No icons, no start menu, nothing. I have to do something from either the bios or from another computer.

You definitely have some signs of an infection, so I insist, you start new topic in malware section and you state your issues.
